Upon arriving at The Charles, you're greeted by our AnnaLynn Gardens, an outdoor area boasting a Gazebo, a stocked pond with a lighted fountain, rock garden waterfall, seasonal plantings and romantic lighting- perfect for those one-of-a-kind photo opportunities, weddings and events.

EAST ROOM

Our newly remodeled East Room includes aged brick, glazed concrete and original hardwood flooring custom-designed to complement the existing architecture of the building, a Fort Wayne landmark since 1970.  Equipped with private washrooms, a new Bridal Suite and a unique bar with a penny countertop (a must-see), it is the epitome of Industrial, Elegant Chic and is suitable for a myriad of design-styles, from Industrial Chic, Modern Farmhouse to Shabby Chic, French Country and Mediterranean- with our expert Décor team, the space can be transformed into dozens of styles and themes.

The East Room accommodates up to 300 guests for sit-down events and 400 guests for cocktail-style events. This space can also be used for seated wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, auctions, holiday parties, book signings, music concerts and recitals, lectures, workshops and a variety of other purposes.

The Charles lends itself to a variety of possibilities for your special day – all imbued with the elegance of this beautiful Mid-Century, updated dwelling. As one would expect, it works beautifully for weddings and receptions as well as rehearsal dinners and bridal luncheons. But, we are not limited to weddings only! Open the elegant door to let in the cool night air and step outside to a wonderland of soft lighting, restful seating, and beautiful flora and fauna.  Our East Courtyard, fully enclosed with wrought-iron type fencing, is the perfect place to ‘take a breather’ and enjoy quiet conversation. 

Looking for a more intimate ceremony space?  Choose from one of our arches for a romantic, sun-filled location (or marry beneath the shade of our Catalpa tree), a perfect spot for photographers!

Need an outdoor space for a cocktail or garden party?  The East Courtyard was designed with you in mind!  Bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, anniversary parties- even a Princess-themed Tea Party can be held in The Charles’ East Courtyard.

WEST HALL

The Charles’ different spaces can be used for a variety of purposes – our West Hall, the more traditional of our two event spaces, is perfect for: Dinner parties, holiday celebrations, anniversary and birthday parties. It's also a great space to host a Charity Event, a Fundraiser, an Auction, a Dinner Theater, a Murder Mystery Event, Music Concert, Recital, or Book signing.  How about a Corporate Luncheon with a Power Point presentation, a Team Building Day, Lectures, Workshops, Corporate Holiday Party? With a seating capacity of 450, we have everything you need to pull it off:  Audio equipment, microphones, drop-down screen and wireless access.

A welcome, recent addition to our West Hall is our new Bridal Suite, complete with vanities and mirrors for makeup application and hair styling as well as a spot for Continental Breakfast and a boxed lunch.  Bridal Suite packages include a Bridal Attendant and could include an on-site, professional Make Up Artist and Hair Stylist, eliminating the need for multiple stops.
